Rivet Nuts for Door Blockoff Plates

Hey All - I have a block off plates ready to install and have both stainless & aluminum rivet nuts - is one preferred over the other in the doors?

Use aluminum. You want the same metal so that the relative rate of expansion is the same. Doors are aluminum. On a really hot day you don’t want them getting loose.

Thanks @Guy thats what I was thinking but also worried the aluminum threads would “pull” out when mushrooming the rig nut. I’ll test some out first.

No you’ll be fine and the block off plates are snug tight. They’re not under much tension.
