It can be disabled in the remote start module. Depending on what year your mustang is my guess is you have a single button fob. When you open the door and it shuts off is so that the vehicle needs to reread the key if it doesn't reread they key, ex: son or daughter have speed limit set to 55mph is top speed on there key and the door didn't shut down vehicle they could put there restricted key in ignition and will have admin privledges with no speed limiter. Same thing on new mustangs with track key. It was mainly 09-current models. It the vehicle has remote start built into key then the vehicle shouldn't shut down after being started.</p></blockquote><p></p>
