Hello all! I've been doing lots of research on front and rear suspension upgrades for my 14' screw and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Rouge Racing Cantilever setup? The price on their site seems to be a screaming deal for the amount of travel you get. I know that it's a great way to get travel without messing with the bed or frame but a lot of people don't go that route because it takes a lot of effort to tune it right. But from the look's of it, they have everything sorted out for you?

It does seem like a screaming deal and a quality kit, don't know if I trust the numbers though, hear its metal to metal and not usable travel. I'm sure it still performs excellently.

I'm seriously interested in this kit but I'm afraid to spend the coin without having any real world feedback! Be sure to keep me posted please :)

I have spoken to Rouge Racing about the kit as well as researching how it works.

The quick summary is the travel you are getting "20 inches" is not just vertical but full travel. AKA if you jump and the wheels drop down then on compression you get 20". With their full kit you also have a bump stop that stops the axles 1/4 away from the frame on full compression. Based on that and not jumping you get 13 inches of wheel travel from a level position based on research.

The design also is a ratio math. If you cut your bed and put a 20" shock in that is 20 of travel or 1 to 1 ratio. Using a Cantilever you can change that ratio to something such as 1 to 1.5 on a smaller shock.

As I said quick and dirty summary of how it works and what I have learned. A note is this design is used by the pros on their pre-runner and race trucks because of the ability to run smaller lighter shocks.

I will call Rouge Racing again today and talk to them about the kit and the prices they sent me. I will report back after I chat with them.

**With the raport being so new, there will be a lot more parts coming out that could be better. Icon has a read setup they are working on as well a SDHQ is working on something.**

I have been finding out more about the cantilever kit. One thing to consider is if you want to tow, it sounds like this won't be a good kit out of the box.

Something to consider if you go this route. You will need to do buy some other parts so you can tow.

From what it sounds like it should be 500ish for a 4 inch airbag helper. You will also need to do the kit as a spring over kit VS spring under. This is to stop axel warp. That is what I know at the moment. I will report back if I get any new info.
