Raptor weight.

Hi,

I'm curious why the listed weight for a raptor (6100ish) is 1100 pounds more than a regular F-150. I realize some of that is from the bigger tires, but I'm wondering what else is responsible.

Or is it that a fully loaded king ranch super-crew 4x4 would be much closer to the raptor's weight, and they are just listing bare bones trucks?

After a bit of research, a King Ranch can hit 5700 pounds so the Raptor isn't all that crazy, it's just surprising. Four off road tires can add 200 pounds easy, and then we are getting to little stuff.

I'm still going to get a 2014 Raptor. It's such a nice mix of all things good about a truck.

Thought the cab and frame were the same as the regular F1's

id say tires, suspension, the fact its 7" wider, etc.

We askedSVT before the Snoball and turns out this was a myth. Cab is the same as the regular F-150. Which is still really strong in a roll over as we have seen.

We have a truck weigh scale at work.
With only the cat-back mod on my Raptor (before RPG Stage 4+), with me (210lbs) on board and a half tank of gas, the truck weighed 6240 lbs on those scales.
