True , but why are there speed rating differences and size variations and pricing differences when comparing OEM to off the shelf BFG AT KO . (315/ 70R 17) ?

Pull them up on tire shack and take a look. Select both and click compare .

Tires of the same nominal size but with different speed ratings ARE different tires and WILL have different specs. Higher speed rated tires are typically more expensive. The OEM tires are "off the shelf" and can be purchased at many retailers. You just have to specify the correct speed rating to get the same tire that comes OEM.

Copy, that makes sense. Wish the BFG guy would have said that, in his description, it sounded as though there was only ONE 315/70R-17 out there.
