So, I'm guessing that you would say that a strengthened frame, upgraded shocks, and an additional 70 ft/lb for your current truck wouldn't be worth $5k?

You have to be kidding me. You guys are acting like the Gen 2 is a small refresh or something. It's a completely different truck. To me the Gen 2 is worth a whole lot more than $5k over the Gen 1. If you don't feel that way then be happy there's now a lot of Gen 1's out there for sale for you to buy.

Sure the new one is improved. But manufacturers are expected to improve their product. Well maybe not if you're Toyota, but that's another story...

Sure prices go up every year, we all get that. But Ford took the Raptor from a $40s/50s truck to a $60s/70s truck. That's a big deal and buyers notice.

You can apologize for Ford all you want, talk BS about how "That Hyundai ain't got no baja mode" or whatever, but the fact remains that now for $50k, which is double what a base F150 cost by the way, you're getting an absurdly featureless Ford F150.

I had one dealer tell me these trucks are the Bentleys of trucks and they don't deal with pricing over the internet only in person. That dealership is asking 20k over and has been calling me everyday and still has the same trucks they had when I called 2 weeks ago. I had another dealer tell me today that they are paying 7k over sticker for them from other dealerships so that's why they won't go below 15k(that was a Arizona dealership). It's crazy I hope it levels out soon, I'm willing to pay a little over but not 7k over . I need a car within the next month because General Motors is buying back my Lemon.

Seriously, with all of the goodies that ALL Raptors come with, you're going to refer to them as "absurdly featureless" unless optioned up? Really?

It's not the options that make the Raptor what it is...

Don't care for the extra power. The 6.2L had more than enough power to outdrive the suspension. I don't care of the upgraded suspension no. I never exceeded the limitations on my 14' and if you're using the truck seriously upgraded is a must anyways. I never had any issues with bending my frame. I also didn't jump it. Or abuse it past it's limitations. Upgraded suspension would help with the frame issues anyways. Which is something someone would do if they planned on using the truck like that. Not to mention I had every option minus the goofy blue interior and graphics. Now the "loaded" trucks are pushing $70k. $62k gets you close to what I had. But still missing everything else. Example, garage door opener. Tack the extra $6k or whatever that most expensive package costs to that $62k to get the garage door opener.

I sold my Gen 1 more or less in anticipation of the Gen 2 expecting the prices to drop like a rock on the Gen 1. That didn't happen. I'm not planning on buying a Gen 2. At least not right now. Until Ford gets their QC under control and dealers quit thinking they are selling a Pagani Huayra, I will be waiting. And to be honest, I won't use the Raptor for what it's designed for. Maybe the occasional trip to the dunes. I can get buy with a TRD Pro Tundra for now. Which is the direction I am leaning for the time being.

I just don't understand how you think. I didn't look to see what Hyundai was offering on their Elantra's before I bought a Raptor. Nor did I look at what a Gen 1 cost 3 years ago. I wanted a pickup so I looked at the new Raptor and compared it to a used Gen 1, Tundra TRD Pro, and Ram Rebel. Gen 2 Raptor seemed to be the best option even factoring in cost. You can tell me I'm wrong all you want, but I think it's the only truck of those 4 worth owning.

Optioning out a Lariat on Ford as close to my Raptor order is an $11k difference in MSRP. Lol at the Gen2 not being a deal (at MSRP of course).

What I would like to see Ford do is quit being a bunch of greedy Tuesdays and let us spec the truck how we want. Cloth seats, nav, garage door opener. Why do I have to add a $9K package full of crap that I don't want just to get a garage door opener? If Ford would let people spec the truck and pick and choose some of the options they want there wouldn't be nearly as many complaints about the prices. I want cloth, nav, and the garage door opener along with the beadlocks. To get nav you have to add the 801A at a minimum but then you lose the cloth seats. If you don't get the Nav from the factory its a bit of a pain in the ass to add a decent head unit after the fact and I never upgrade them anyways so I want the NAV which means I can't keep the cloth. To get the garage door opener you then have to add the 802A. Over $9,300 for the 802A and it includes a ton of stuff I don't want or need. It is just really stupid to have to add all of this extra crap to get some really basic stuff that should be included or at least added as an option by itself. Ford being greedy. Nothing more, nothing less.
