The trip started for the RE crew early at 7:30AM where they met at the Outlaw Headquarters to pick up the second chase truck and trailer. Once they were all loaded up it was time to depart for the meeting spot in the Kmart parking lot a mile north of the boarder in San Diego. With such a small group, nearly everyone was there by 11AM where we all introduced ourselves and started to get to know each other before departing at 1 PM for the border.

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsyt4xvdfw.jpg

We made it through the border and Tijuana with ease, and once we started the highway commute to Ensenada, everyone agreed the views from the highway were spectacular.

We eventually made it to Ensenada after about an hour and a half highway commute down we rolled into the gated parking lot for the San Nicolas Hotel and Casino, everyone antsy and eager to get into the hotel and begin the festivities for the night.

p_630_441_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_png_srb_zpswnpbbcoz.png

At around 5PM we were treated to a dinner with the choice of either Fish or Chicken, both were muy deliciosa

After dinner everyone went back to their rooms to shower, and get ready for going into Ensenada to have some fun at the local bars. Most people didn’t stay out too late because tomorrow was a pretty big day of off-roading fun.

The next morning we all woke up, had some coffee and some breakfast, and then took off for a quick highway commute to the trailhead just outside of Ensenada. While leaving the views still were nothing but beautiful, we almost didn’t want to leave!

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsmnmwunnt.jpg

Once we all reached the trailhead, we did a quick little debrief, put on some sunblock and the day began.

p_630_157_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsjof598ar.jpg

A short 20 minutes or so later we rode up onto the coastline, and needless to say, the views were breathtaking.

We found some good spots along the way for some jumping and drifting fun

After a quick break we embarked yet again making our way more south towards the infamous Shipwrecks Cove, where we had to stop for everyone to get their pictures in and relax for a little before the final stretch of the day into San Quintin.

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpswo7f9bbs.jpg

A cool looking cemetery on the trail.

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsqbwdsrbk.jpg

The sunset was one pretty one with no clouds in the sky and the sun reflecting perfectly off the water as it was making its way down.

p_630_840_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsxbct4ach.jpg

We made it to San Quintin easily, where everyone got their rooms, showered up and waited for the delicious dinner that the legendary Javier always prepares for us when we go down to baja. No matter how amazing the food is, nothing will compare to how amazing Javier’s margaritas are, needless to say we were all very happy to have a few of those in us after a long day of off-roading fun.

p_630_586_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpspgszhlqd.jpg

Moose and his sister relaxing with us.

The latest addition to The Old Mill family.

p_630_840_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpssrivh6t6.jpg

The next morning we were able to all get up and ready to go by 9AM, but before leaving had to have some good breakfast burritos to fill our stomachs for the long day ahead of us.

Leaving The Old Mill we had a pretty long stretch of highway to the trailhead in El Rosario. We gassed up in El Rosario, and grabbed some last minute snacks for the trail before taking off for the farthest down south Raptor Expeditions has been yet.

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpspiwsm9rh.jpg

Of course randy had to get a little flexy before the trail to wet his beak for what was to come.

p_630_840_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsborkdk1f.jpg

Even though it was about 80miles on the highway, it didn’t feel that long with us rolling through the hills, taking in some great views along the way again.

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpscji6zjd6.jpg

The trail head where we all gathered before taking off.

Tj and Mark straight thuggin it on the trail.

p_630_840_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpswvtk51kf.jpg

After making our way through the cactus fields, we made our way down the bluff onto a beach, where some donut fun began, and didn’t want to end for almost an hour.

The long traveled white raptors posting up for a picture moment with the tore up beach in the background haha

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zps4ij7hlxx.jpg

Some shell hunting just outside the donut beach.

Paul Jr. Found a complete crab shell

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsk5hh9wfl.jpg

After offroading down some more we made our way over to our very own private beach for some lunch and spectacular views.

p_630_257_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsmyzg2a8j.jpg

Tj managed to get himself stuck in the sand making his way over lol

p_630_840_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpse0jjrcjo.jpg

Once we finished our trek down on the pacific side we had to cut across to the gulf side, but first, you always have to stop for a sticker slapping opportunity.

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsry68fqfx.jpg

Its hard to focus on driving with a sunset like this

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpswwa6ms88.jpg

Are we going to make it?? Don’t worry we did.

p_630_840_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsuhwvhyov.jpg

We got into bay of LA around 830PM. Dropped off our stuff and made our way into town for some dinner. After dinner we all went back to the hotel we were staying at, and everyone fell asleep.

It was dark by the time we got to Bay of LA, so we didn’t realize how beautiful it was until we got one of the prettiest sunrises overlooking the sea of cortez.

p_630_227_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsggbm3vf4.jpg

We rode into town for some breakfast at Guillermos, where we got breakfast with another awaesome view.

p_630_355_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsuovdywxe.jpg

We were supposed to have a rest day in Bay of LA but we decided to make our way up to San Felipe and have our rest day up there instead, so we packed our stuff up and made our way to the trail head for another on the trail.

We all pulled off the highway to the trailhead where we staged, and had everyone stagger their take offs to keep them from driving in eachother’s dust.

p_630_840_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsk038ygfc.jpg

We started out on an official Score racecourse, so the whoops were a real thing, but who doesn’t like a little bit of a rocky ride?

Once we made it through the whoops we started cutting into the mountains, where we found ourselves in the middle of a canyon that had us doing some little river crossings and some big dips we had to get through.

Making our way out of the canyon we rolled up on the infamous Coco’s Corner, where we pulled off to have some beverages, swap stories, and hang out with the legenday Coco himself.

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsxuusqrtc.jpg

John had some fun in one of the giant dump trucks parked at Coco’s, too bad they didn’t have any gas in them.

p_630_840_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsrbz9j72n.jpg

We left Coco’s to finish our day on the highway into San Felipe, but we still managed to find ways to entertain ourselves.

We made our way into town just as the sun was going down making for another pretty sunset.

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zps69zsfsxs.jpg

We checked into the hotel, dropped off our stuff and worked our way over to the restaurant for some dinner before we headed into town to the Rockodile for some drinks.

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpspylwbenj.jpg

The next morning a group of guys woke up extra early to go fishing at 7 in the morning, where they caught some good fish for later that night.

p_630_352_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_png_srb_zpsosxel372.png

TJ serenaded us a little at lunch.

p_630_840_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsvikjdiuj.jpg

We all needed a little wifi in our lives and this awesome bar was the place to be with the wifi.

With it being the day off everyone did their own thing, some people laid on the beach, some people went into town for some souvenir shopping, then everyone met up and we all went and bought some fireworks for after dinner shenanigans.

Dinner was delicious with the fresh caught fish made up for some fish tacos.

With dinner finished and it being dark it was time to start the firework fun, and boy did we have some.

p_630_421_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpss8upztk1.jpg

The next morning was the last day of the trip, leaving san felipe up to tecate. But before we hit the border there was plenty more offroading to be done.

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpspvuewdus.jpg

We started on the famous Zoo Road where the San Felipe 250 is held annually.

We came across a few curious cows along the way before dropping down into the dry lakebed, Which was registering at 120 degrees on some trucks, Tj’s said 113…still too hot.

p_630_835_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsbdwhcdbk.jpg

p_630_545_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zps7qd1uraf.jpg

We were having some fun and our military friends showed up to watch us screw around in the desert doing donuts and having fun, they were great guys.

p_630_663_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsxaxjsf3s.jpg

p_630_220_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsuy6oynbl.jpg

We finished up our fun in the dry lake bed and started to make our way into the mountains. There was some highway commuting through a military checkpoint, where we stopped to gas up and wait for Pedro to catch up, who said he needed to pick something up real quick....when he rolled up we had no idea what to say because the thing he went to pick up was a Goat...

p_630_421_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsnlwqk6b8.jpg

We named him Pancho and he was an awesome goat.

Once the initial shock of the goat passed and we started to make our way onto an unmarked trail that wasn’t on fire, we gave the group a little preview of what prerunning for these runs is like.

p_630_840_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsquwzpozi.jpg

p_630_182_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_png_srb_zpsewvcavs2.png

We eventually made our way back to the Compadre Trail and took that all the way to the highway where we all regrouped for some pictures of everyone and last
minute story swapping.

p_630_473_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpsqtrdsaqe.jpg

p_630_630_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srb_zpshxz7robu.jpg

We all hoped onto the highway into Tecate where everyone crossed the boarder and went on their merry way, leaving Mexico with nothing but dust and memories that will last a lifetime!
