So guess what little gem I found today while changing my brakes. Yep blown shock. Been looking all over the state of oregon to have my shocks rebuilt, not one place in the entire state. I called the dealer (stupid I know but I was desperate) lady says yeah we can rebuild them for 4100 plus labor and shop fees. Yeah no I can buy 3.0s for that fetching price. The closest place I seen was forged. Rather novel idea, wish I could justify driving down to Sacramento to get this done, but I definitely will be contacting them and see if we can get these shocks fixed.

Update

This experience was amazing. I sent my shocks in for rebuild, and will be a returning customer. I had the pleasure of working with Paul. I had a few questions that I was unclear about, and he took care of me. By the time I shipped them I had no worries and felt confident in my decision to send them in. Within 3 days I received an email stating there was an issue with my shocks. The rubber bushings on the coil overs were worn out. I called and asked paul about my options, he didn't upsell, but he gave me options, he didn't push me to get the spherical bearings. After discussing my options (and clearing it with my wife) I decided to upgrade to the bearings. He promptly sent out my bill, I paid, and my shocks were out the door that day. Loved the customer service, and for that reason, I'll be returning to rebuild in the future. If your looking to rebuild your shocks send them to forged they were very good to me.

I too had a fantastic experience with these guys.

I was in the exchange program and due to its popularity it took a little longer, almost 8 weeks for me, but it was a very smooth process with really great communication from these guys. They were patient with my questions and even pivoted last moment when I secured a set of front shocks for rebuild, which meant I only needed the rears exchanged. They didn't skip a beat and everything was turned around within a day or so. I received a box with the rebuilt shocks, installed, put the old rears on the box and put the included shipping label on the box, and off it went. The rebuilt shocks they sent were in great shape too, I believe they even cleaned up the fronts I sent them.

Super happy.

I might start doing these in FL. I have all the tools (used to be a tech) and need to do my own and saw that no one really does them on the east coast.

Wish there wasn’t such a long wait to get rebuilds. I got a leaking shock right now.

"flutter stack" upgrade eliminates wheel hop? if this is true I need an appointment soon. I only have 45K street miles on my truck no idea if my shocks need rebuilding but to get the flutter stack I will anyways. Can someone touch on the subject more that has it done? did it kill the wheel hip?

Flutter dampens wheel hope. So if street only make the shocks work better for the little bumps.

If there is no signs of leaking then you are fine if only street use. Fox has intervals on their shocks as noted on the website. Average idea for street only is around the 60-75K range you should look at having them rebuilt. Unless they leak of course.

I have signed up twice over the last year to get a set of exchange shocks...got a message saying have I received my shocks... returned message saying I have never received anything. I give up. My shocks were blown over a year ago & driving now is completely dangerous...back end hops around like driving on ice. This was all of 20kmi after SDHQ rebuilt them & just driving on the road. Living in Louisiana, it cost me a small fortune to have them rebuild them. So my question...where is the closest place to me that can rebuild them correctly?
