Got a low tire warning yesterday but don’t know why... They are all pretty low in the morning when it’s cold, but I thought the warning would go away when driving when they warm up. Bad tpms sensor? 19 with 5,000 miles.

I had one sensor go bad on my 2018 Raptor. The dealer replaced it under warranty. This TPMS would intermittently read nothing though.

Try doing a few things.
  • Check the actual air pressure with a pressure gauge on all tires. Compare what the gauge reads to the values on the dash. Choose one.
  • Air the tire down on the misbehaving corner, say to 28. Drive around for a few miles. See what the display says. 28 psi should give you the orange color with a dashed line instead of a psi value.
  • Air the tire back up to what you want the pressure to be. I recommend 34 psi for the rear tires. See what the display says now.
  • While you are at it...air the front tires up 4 psi above the rear tires. I like cold psi of 38 front/34 rear for highway. Just keep that 4 psi delta front to rear. If you are airing up the tires when they are warm, bump the psi up 2 psi to 40 front/36 rear.
Let us know how this works.

Best.

Sometimes after airing down, when I air back up the low pressure light will be on but the pressures show the correct amount. By the next day it is fine. I think it has a mind of it's own.

here, on frf
the door states cold tire pressure. if your pressure is at the recommended psi when its hot, then you can be off by 8-10 psi. when i go play in the sand im down to 20psi and when i fill them up again when im done, i always go to 50 psi (1st gen recommended is 44psi cold) and when i check them in the morning, they are sometimes still below 44psi. they give you the cold psi because depending on how you drive, additional pressure from heat varies so a standard is for cold tire pressure.

I parked the truck inside all day and reset the pressures to 38/34 and drove it a couple hundred miles. The warning finally turned off after its third stop/start. Weird, but it’s all good now [emoji2371]

Thanks guys
