Raceline Bumper Frame Mod Video

I just mounted the hood release on a piece of aluminum. Looks like it came from the factory that way.

i reused the piece from the lower bumper. just unbolted it from the metal lower bumper and rebolted it to the plastic upper bumper. eventually ill get some sort of onboard air system and mount it there. and use that to make a bracket to support the upper bumper.

Guys, sorry to bring a thread back from the dead but the front of my truck is apart, it’s getting late and it’s snowing in Chicago in the middle of April!!!


So the mounting hardware for the new bumper is leaving me puzzled. There is a piece of steel pipe that I assume goes inside the cut frame horn to prevent it from crimping but the pipe is too long. Am I just supposed to cut it to length and then tuck it in there? I did not get any instructions, just a Trophy bumper and the bolts.

On my SVC Baja bumper I wasn't sure either; some threads I read on here they cut the spacers and/or tack welded them in place, others hogged out the two holes in the frame and slid the spacers in. I opted to bend the frame horns open with a big-ass crescent wrench and pipe wrench just enough to hammer the spacers in between those two holes; looking at the spacers the ends were slightly chamfered (maybe my imagination and they just deburred the cuts) but it worked out perfectly for me, just bent the frame ends back in place and voila...

Thanks Ben. I got anxious and just measured and cut them a C hair long and pounded them in. They stayed in place well enough to hang the bumper and slide the bolts through.
