I am expecting my new 2013 SCAB in a couple weeks. Last update said build was scheduled for second week of May. :happy160:

I want to have it wrapped in flat or satin black but I have a couple questions.

1. Can anyone recommend a shop in Vegas that they have worked with

2. I have a white (no graphics) truck on order but can still change the color. A couple shops told me they can wrap everything so turning a white truck flat black won't be a problem. Is this true? I am concerned about door jambs, hood and tailgate openings, space between bed and cab, etc.

I am hoping to get some feedback this weekend so I can change my color to black on Monday if I have to. I would prefer to keep white so I will have a totally different color truck in a few years when I peel the vinyl off, but if I need black to make the wrap work I can still change the order.

Thanks!!

From the wraps I've seen, you'll still have parts that will be white if you go flat black, stuff like the sides of the tailgate where it latches, same with the doors. when everything is closed up nobody would see white, but when you open the doors or tailgate you might see it. I don't know if they can wrap those parts.

They can do everything, but expect to pay extra for it... Alot extra since these parts are harder and more time consuming to wrap.

Ideally you want the color of your truck to be closer to the vinyl color so that a lot of the parts that get exposed when parts of the truck are open (door jambs, tailgate, etc) sorta blend in.

I'd suggest changing the color to black if you're dead set on the matte/satin black look

My truck is red and I went for the matt black wrap. All of the areas with gaps still show red including the area between the bumper and bed and just below the rockers. The bed had to be removed to do the area between the bed and cab. One other thing I noticed was after I had a new windshield installed I can see some of the red at the top of the windshield where before I could not.

I am happy with the way the truck looks.

It's more difficult to wrap a white truck black. As stated by Raptor Wifey it can be done just more time required. Put Patrick Signs on your list of companies to call. They do all the RPG stuff and they know what they're doing! Good work!

Thank you to everyone. I spoke to my sales agent this morning and he is trying to see if they can change my color still. He said Ford had accepted the order so he wasnt sure he could get it changed. Worst case scenario I will just have to wait a bit longer to put in a new order.

Special thanks to Designs N Signs here on the forums. Chris took time late in his evening to talk to me on the phone and answer a lot of questions. Excellent customer service and I will definitely refer anyone i can to him for custom graphics.

Thanks!
