Those with the higher octane tunes ... has it been worth it , does the mpg increase at all?

Maybe i need to ask the question better... Does the higher octane tune provide any noticeable gains , hp , mpg anything worth paying the increase in fuel costs?

When it comes to custom tuning. The short answer is yes. The higher the octane level of tuning, the better the results for performance, mileage, etc. That being said, 87 octane tuning is even better than stock. For mileage, you can see an increase in mileage of anywhere between 1-3mpg depending on the terrain and your foot. IF you have any further questions about tuning your Raptor, feel free to give me a shout, I'd be happy to go over things in more detail with you.

i just got a tune from 5 star a single tune because I have a unlocked ITSX. I asked for a 89 tune and got a 91 tune, not a problem. I installed it anyways and ran 87 gas. in the cooler temps I did not notice any ping but now in the warmer I hear a slight ping and goes away quickly when ever going from off idle to a moderate pedal push.

First thing is I hate the ITSX with a passion. I had if for a year for my previous raptor tune and when it got wrecked i put the original tune back in. It worked great then and a year later it needed an update and wouldn't work with Windows 8 I had to find a windows 7 laptop to get it updated. Now try to link the ITSX with your hand held device... Out of twenty tries it hooked up and did the upload great. Since the pinging has occurred I am going to try to see if I can lower the global timing by a degree or two and see how it goes, but unable to hook up to my Ipad at the moment.

The tune itself is awesome it changes shift points and very responsive on the throttle. Watching the gas mileage as i don't expect it to be better but I do find I am not leaning on the pedal as much to get it to down shift when I need some acceleration.

Right now I am putting a higher premium gas in but the fill up today from above E not even enough to turn the low fuel warning light on was $125 and that did not take it right to the full mark.......

Call SCT about that connection issue. They can go through your wireless account link or wife connection and directly fix the connection issues for you. That is pretty common with those units. For now, with the 91 octane tune, lower the global spark by -3* and that will at least get you down to 89 octane fuel and reduce the pinging from the detonation you are hearing.
