Update:
40 days in. Ford engineer flew in today to inspect my truck, so I was told via a phone call from a Detroit based Ford manager and the Dealer. New transmission ordered. Supposedly will be here Monday 10/22.

40 days and still no resolution? That sucks. I hope a new trans fixes it.

Is the dealership or Ford providing you with a loaner?

Did they look at the transfer case? They replaced the torque converter, fluid pump, all the seals, and finally the entire transmission before realizing it was the transfer case. 36 days total.

When you pick up your truck inspect the hell out of it. They lost my middle skidplate and left it off saying it was my fault. They had the balls to check my service record and call me a week later saying it was another dealership that left off the plate because I went in for an oil change there...

They scratched several places on the paint. Hell they used touchup paint on a few areas so I wouldn't notice.

I told them to look at transfer case 5 times based on your example. They have not based on what I have been told, they know better. I don’t have time to deal with it anymore and I’m packing on miles on their rental. That’s my silver lining at this point.

Sounds like my pile of shit truck. My 2018 was gone most of September due to 'Timing belt tensioner' problems. Got it back about 3 weeks ago, and this weekend got the Powertrain Malfunction issue similar to yours. Told the dealer to come haul it off this morning and bring me a loaner. Tired of this unreliable vehicle. I wouldn't feel safe taking any kind of extended trip with it.

Ok, dealer called late today. New tranny delivered and installed this afternoon. First pass they say, all gears, reverse, work. They will test drive tomorrow! I said good luck and call me when it’s ready. We shall see!

Sounds like my pile of shit truck. My 2018 was gone most of September due to 'Timing belt tensioner' problems. Yup. I just got my truck back exactly 8 days ago, while it was at the dealer for a hair over a month due to a rattle on startup. They replaced the entire longblock. I'm assuming it was the timing belt tensioner since the rattle went away after a couple seconds - also assuming that the noise went away after the engine built up oil pressure. They found a cracked piston skirt, metal shavings in oil and an oil leak somewhere on the bottom of the engine. Mind you, I bought the truck with 7,193 miles and it went in after putting about 800 miles on it. Truck now has about 8,400 miles on it, meaning I put about 400 miles on it. Here's the kicker - it's doing the same f-ing thing again. Sad that my $67k truck has spent more time at the dealer than in my hands. I don't trust this thing one bit. Off to Ford we go.

Dealer called and supposedly my throttle body was bad and causing my power train malfunction. They replaced it, and will be delivery it back to me this evening. We shall see... How does a throttle body go bad on a 2018?

They probably sent you the one they put in mine since it didn’t help my situation. they said they had to order mine and it took a few day to get to SA. They have my old tranny, 2!throttle bodies, and 8 new sensors that did no good.

The new tranny is installed and supposedly all is good. I can’t pick it up until tomorrow afternoon. I HAVE A FULL TIME JOB AND CANT JUMP TO THEIR NUMEROUS CALLS AND EXCITEMENT that they finally feel it’s fixed.
