Yup. That's Florida. I hated it. Hot. Flat. Traffic in metro areas. Rained EVERY day. Now they have tons of crocs and pythons. My mom lives there. She comes here to visit, I ain't going down there.

There are some stupid laws and leaders, however it isn't too bad.

The wife and I make enough to live here. In one day, I can go to the beach, desert and mountains if I wanted to. Really good food and plenty to do. Only downside is earthquakes since we can't see them coming.

Yea, kind of worried about it, but what can I do besides prepare for it. I have family/friends out of state that has a couple of emergency bags/box that I update every year.

In case the shit hits the ceiling, the wife knows to grab our priority box and bag, get in the truck and head out. Being only 33 years old, the worst thing the wife and I have seen is Covid and "Hurricane Hillary" that just passed.

i like it here(me) even though is a salt state and can have brutal winters. The outdoorsiness of it here is great, plus safe and peaceful.

Need to find a way to measure the pump hose to the new res location, and then figure out a way to measure it without injuring myself reaching in the bay LOL

Couldn't agree more. There are reasonable issues with the state, but overall it's not bad and shockingly cheap for a lot of ancillary stuff you don't think about. Car insurance is the one that comes to mind. My policy basically doubled going from California to Florida.

I was offered a lateral position in Los Angeles and I have half the mind to take it.
