Height is only part of the story. People have different length arms and legs. I'm 6' tall with a 32" inseam. I have a friend who is 5'6" with a 32" inseam and a friend who is 6' tall with a 36" inseam. Rock climbers talk about something called the ape index, which is your arm span divided by your height. It's a huge advantage to be 1.1 as opposed to 0.9. If you have very long arms and legs, you'll feel comfortable farther from the wheel. Once again, it helps to be average.

Edit to add: Real freaks have short arms and long legs or long legs and short arms. Michael Phelps, for example, has really long arms and short legs for his height. Great for swimming, but I imagine that getting a car seat adjusted is a real PITA for him.
