... you claimed my argument was about defunding the police? Where did I mention that at all? Please do explain it to me, slowly.

Now I'm sorry I offered. But an offer is an offer. So let's get started. In response to your remark showing zero respect and zero support for the police, I said:

Yeah, let's finish what the defunding movement started.

Attitudes like yours, when encountered often, discourage good cops. The bullies and the guys who are hoping for a fight, not so much. The defund the police movement has caused a lot of good cops to say "F*** this, I'm out of here." I'm saying that attitudes like yours and the defund the police movement tend to have the same effect. Nowhere did I claim anything about what you said or thought about the movement. If this isn't clear to you now, I'm not willing to explain it to you again, at any speed.

Let’s not pretend your use of the word “brilliant” was anything less than sarcasm and the fact you would claim it as anything less would be nothing but disingenuous.

OK. I thought that calling you a cold-hearted ingrate would be rude when a reasonable alternative was that you were dumb as a box of rocks. So I didn't. Now that you've demonstrated the ability to recognize sarcasm and use a dictionary, you're at least at the third-grade level and I won't call you a ********, a *******, or a moron. Happy now?

@GordoJay great, thanks for reinforcing my point. The fact that you think using a dictionary is an insult says more about you than it does about me. Are you going to insult me for graduating from college next? Nowhere did I disparage cops other than to state the fact that if they can’t handle the job, maybe they shouldn’t do it. You blame the defund the cops movement, something you inserted into this argument yourself and claim i brought it up, instead of admonishing actual bad cops that give good cops bad names. You are the one with the issues here Gordo, not I. You have no idea what my attitudes towards cops is because you took a non aggressive statement I made and turned it into something it wasn’t. I work with criminals daily, with law enforcement, yet you claim I don’t support them? It’s because unlike you, I want accountability for actions and deflecting blame like you’re doing helps nothing, nor do the insults. Please point to where I said defund true police, where this whole argument started. I would be more than happy to admit where I’m mistaken if that were the case.

All I said was that if a cop was too afraid to do their job and that fear dictates their actions, it’s time to find a new job. If at any point I feared for my life or felt threatened over my job, you’d better believe I wouldn’t keep doing that job.

If the job is too dangerous for them, or they are too afraid to do it, I would suggest them getting another job. A police officer doesn’t even make it into the top 10 list of dangerous jobs.

It has nothing to do with fear. I don't fear walking up to cars. It has everything to do with safety. I don't particularly fear my house will be broken in to, yet I still have security cameras because it's a possibility.

And for the record, I found the OP's post kind of humorous, honestly. As an officer, I don't really get bent out of shape about tint. I have used it as probable cause to stop vehicles, but mostly in rare circumstances where a task force or DEA has a vehicle they need stopped as part of an investigation.

I can understand that, and you are right that it isn’t always about fear. It really is how an individual approaches a situation and naturally some are more skittish than other cops. Some with good reason, some with not good reason. I can understand why a police offer goes into a given situation with extra caution but it is my opinion that seeing everyone as dangerous and every stop as deadly isn’t healthy for the cop, and sometimes the individual getting pulled over.

I'll take that as a "no". :)

I won't deny there are some officers that are afraid and should not have a badge. That being said, you have to view everyone as potentially dangerous. The time you don't, could be your last. Now seeing everyone as dangerous and treating everyone like they're dangerous are two different things. I smile and talk to people like they're human but that doesn't mean that behind the smile isn't someone ready to handle business when necessary. It's a fine line to walk and I thoroughly enjoy my job. Treat people with respect until they don't give you a reason to

I think that you have the right attitude and the fact that you can articulate your thoughts without getting defensive and resorting to insults shows what kind of LEO you are. Working with law enforcement weekly I get to see a lot of good cops and some lazy ones. I have yet to personally meet a bad one, just from my own experience. I appreciate your attitude and your approach

anyone have a magnetic gray gen 2 without window tint? If you do can you send me a pic from the side?? cops where I live cant go outside to inspect your vehicle due to covid but will sign off my fix it ticket if I show them picture.... google didn't have anything good.

I know its a lot to ask but help a raptor out :)
Don't have a magnetic or way to help you there. But what I'm getting from your post is..... ever since you were a kid you got headaches with prolonged exposure to sunlight/bright lights and as you have gotten older its gotten worse. You wear polarized sunglasses when driving, which helps some but they are too dark to safely drive in at night. Which is when the reflected light and glare off your side and review mirrors from following cars/traffic cause you problems.

I think a decent ophthalmologist would agree you have a photosensitivity and give you a medical script for tint that helps manage your symptoms......

But maybe I interpreted your post wrong.
