I wanted to give a little flare to the front of my truck so I decided to paint the FORD emblem. We supply Matrix System & Sherwin Williams automotive paint so I was able to mix up a quarter pint of paint code: UX Ignot Silver Metallic. I decided to do a base coat/ clear coat to make it look like it came OE like that. I had originally planned on just scuffing the letters, putting some adhesion promoter on, and then painting them, but when I put my first coat of base on it caused some areas to wrinkle up (attached). I am going to put the blame on the bulldog and myself. I used an aerosol can and a heavy finger can make you put the product on a little heavy in some areas which can lead to lifting or wrinkling. I had to sand those areas back down and apply some high 5 gray primer to hide those problem areas. I did 2 coats of the base and 2 coats of the Matrix MS-52 clear. All in all I am very pleased with the results. What do you guys think?!?!?
