I believe you. I’ve actually seen higher by about 10 degrees here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torrejón_Air_Base It was not a bad thermometer either. Before popping the doors on the C130, air crew tells us we will ‘range walk’ to the terminal, no stopping, no talking, just do it. When they popped the doors I was shocked at how hot it was, literally. we started sweating before leaving the plane and in the brief walk from the plane to the terminal, the entire platoon was drenched from head to toe in sweat. Tarmac temps are always a little higher than ambient but DAMN that was hot.We were over payload on that flight and after fueling put into Newfoundland, which was ~100F cooler. If that’s not enough, the plane tried to put into Andrews, just in time for afternoon thunderstorms, and after 3 aborted landings, set off for Norfolk where we finally landed.
