Cobb Tuning isn’t just a me-too tuner who uses someone else’s hardware and software like literally all the others. The source of Cobb Tuning was/is Trey Cobb, a real Electrical Engineer with a bad case of Motorsport disease. The Cobb crew actually design their own software and hardware in-house from idea to retail sale. There is/are no one on the same level as Cobb. There is one other car-tuner business that I’m aware of that can approach Cobb in pure capability and results, HPTuners. In fact, while Cobb was still in development of their initial support for the EB Raptor, I purchased the HPTuners hardware (the very limited capability “nGauge”, another company’s product HPT was utilizing) and software to learn and use until Cobb released their effort and switched over. HPTuners has fairly recently come out with their own hardware for flashing and data logging, but it is not even close to the Cobb AccessPort in usefulness to the driver. There are “tuners” who prefer one device/software over the other, but mostly personal preference for their tuning business model. All said, the Cobb AccessPort is hands down the best product on the market for the customer/driver in that it is well designed both aesthetically and functionally to provide real-time data viewing along with driver-adjustable features. Yeah, I use Cobb (if available) for all my 4-wheel vehicles. I would love for them to support the new 2020+ Ford 3.0 EB TT v6 in the Explorer ST! I’ve been forced to use HPTuners. Hint! Hint! You listening Cobb?
