So while at the dunes I had off-road mode activated and my rear locker engaged but while climbing some of the hills the truck would cut power and caused me to get stuck. Traction control was blinking. I thought off road mode allowed the wheels to spin too avoid this type of situation am I wrong and how do I avoid this?? Is a tune the only way?

I am almost positive I had advance trac disabled ( held for ten seconds) but who knows I did have a few liquid courage in a can guess I'll have too go out and try again to make sure I do know that if I turn advance trac off it still won't let the engine rev over 1000 rpm or so while trying to brake stand (in the sand)

Not to be a "Negative Nancy" but please do not drink and drive, even off-road, for your safety as well as the safety of others. There are literally thousands of vignettes of people dying while off-roading while drinking. Besides, memories cannot be made if you can't remember them! Haha.

Very true and I will say I only had a couple and that was when we got stuck and had to wait for something big enough to pull the damn thing out and after I did my buddy drove as the ranger was there hangin with us and encouraged me to hand over the keys to avoid any issues

If traction control was blinking than from what I have seen, it wasn't turned off. Always keep an eye every now and then on the traction control symbol, it can go off for varies reasons.

You also need to disable trailer sway control. It will slow you down like that when you climb and swing back down the dunes.
