Not detecting trailer

Weird problem I can't figure out, whenever I connect my trailer my truck never detects it. When using the 4-pin connector, the lights work and everything but my dash never sees the trailer, I never get the "Trailer Connected" indication. So when I need to back up when connected, my rear sensors go off.

Is this maybe a fuse?

I had the same problem. Everything worked great, except for the fact the truck never saw the trailer as connected

it only detects if it is a 7 pin plug. mainly because 4 pin plugs dont have trailer brakes. only the 7 pin does.

Odd. My '15 detected the trailer.

15 was a new model year. im guessing thats why. i had a 4 pin plug when i tow my quads. last year i changed the axle for a bigger one and it had trailer brakes. had to rewire to a 7 pin plug thats when my truck detected a trailer connected
