Almost every manufacturer drills the valve stem hole at the low runout point.</p><p></p><p>To be clear, modern manufacturing tolerances for wheels and tires are tight enough that this is irrelevant for 99% or more of us, but that 1% of us who have bad experiences from tolerance stacking will be very noticible by comparison. And more widely known due to forums like this one...</p><p></p><p>Regardless, if your tire takes a lot of weight to balance the first thing a reputable installer will do is break the bead and spin the tire on the rim to get a better balance. If they’re not doing that they’re either ignorant (not stupid, ignorant...there’s a difference) or just lazy.</p><p></p><p>Remember, I’m just a guy on the internet so take this advice for what it’s worth, but I’ve been in this game a long time.
