New Video - GEN 3 Clearly has a V-8 Option

It has to be a V8 whether it be boosted in some way, hybrid whatever. And the numbers have to be at least as good as the TRX. Anything less and it will be second place to the TRX and very likely at a higher price.

No, but there has been a time in my life where I thought "I wish this thing wasn't so expensive". I get it though, there certainly isn't a market where cost doesn't matter.

I'm still formulating what I want to see, but right now, the two engine options works for me. And I hope it's done in a way that everybody gets what they want without the need to claim the other model is inferior. If Ford can match the HP of the TRX at or below the TRX cost, they win. If they can make a powerboost V6 that the majority or current Raptors can afford, it's a win.

Has to be. No way Ford is taking a back seat the Ram. Make no mistake, the Raptor is the king.

Seeing Ford seems to sell a pretty decent chunk of Gen 2 Raptors at the current price point I don't see them pricing the Raptor out of reach for the guys that currently own the truck. I think (just an opinion) a lot of people got excited about the TRX till the price tag hit them in the face. $20k extra for just the motor I could never justify.

I really hope like some sources are saying there will be 3 engine options. EcoBoost for people who don't like spending money, PowerBoost for the majority of trucks, and charged V8 for the R (which will cost silly money most likely).

No I’m just smart enough to know that more HP isn’t the answer to everything . If that were the case everybody in this thread would own a demon. Power is fun but gets old , balance is much more enjoyable

Agreed. Perhaps taboo on a Ford Raptor site but coming out of sports cars all my live and into a sweet 2010 SCAB, I love it for what it is. More HP in a truck doesn’t do it for me personally. Now... put that power in my old BMW M series with ability to toe/heel and corner... there ya go.

Wouldn't be surprised to a see a V8 option be supercrew only for the bigger gas tank and direct competition with TRX. Three engine options not gonna happen. Powerboost and maybe the V8.

Agreed on the V8 packaging. I bet it's only available as a SCREW 802A with just a few configurable options. The GT350R was like that. Very few things to add or take away.

I really hope the PowerBoost is an option and they don't just do an up-rated EcoBoost. I want to extra electric power and I really want that generator feature available in the PowerBoost F-150s.

I've been curious if Ford will be able to keep the bigger tank with the linked rear end. All of the Ram 1500's have a 26 gallon tank if I recall (TRX or standard). I'm sure FCA wanted a bigger tank but I wonder if the suspension design gets in the way of tank size?

Think my crew cab Rebel had a 34 gal tank.
