Just had this little gem delivered yesterday. It's the motorsports edition with lots of different mounts. I can't wait to try out a few different mounting locations and see how it performs.

Any suggestions or tips on best settings and mounting locations?

This guy = jealous! I've been eyeing those for awhile now. Everyone's videos from hitting the trails and the TRR look so cool! Did you find any sales on the GoPro or just pay full retail?

The suction cup mount is by far the best do anything mount.

Thanks Raptizzle. So just clean an area on the hood, door, etc., and stick it on?

I had been watching them daily on Amazon, and earlier in the week they dropped to $249 shipped. I jumped on it since everytime I wait to see if it's going lower it has increased instead. Right now they are going for $260ish.

I need to get a suction cup mount for mine.

I mainly use mine for filming training runs of alpine ski racing.

It's a badass camera that's for sure.

Here's one tip I haven't seen on here at all that might serve you well. Find a rubbermaid or similar container with a locking top to carry your camera and all the accessories in. I found one around the house that fits in the center console. I've also used it with the suction cup mount as a field-expedient camera stand. That's how I took the pic in my avatar.

Great tip. I saw when you posted this in another thread a long time ago and gave it a shot myself. Works great.

I recommend the Fat Gecko mount with two suction cups. Its never let go of my Drift cam no matter what I've put it through so far.
