You are correct, when programmed for Sony sound the radio puts out max volume and the Sony amp controls the output volume. That is why I mentioned the requisite reprogramming required to enable the standard stereo output. In addition, you would bring the SYNC alerts audio Chanel into the cleansweep.BTW: I mispoke, I meant to say the radio (ACM) needs the reprogramming, not the SYNC module (APIM).
