These are really easy to use with a heat gun. Slip a piece of shrink tube over the wire that'll cover the solder seal on either side by an inch or so, do the seal, then slip the shrink wrap over the whole thing and heat it to shrink it down. You'll never have an issue. I've used these for years on all sorts of wiring.

I use the connectors that have a solder ring and have a seal that melts to the wire coatings, making it water proof. I also put a heat shrink over that for good measure. It is a solid connection.

Also, when you upgrade to NON-CHINESE lights, be sure to get a set that has an aftermarket wiring harness. I had an excellent experience with @4x4TruckLEDs.com. I got three pairs of light pods and a single harness that connects all of the lights. You have the ability to put them on individual upfitters, all on one, or two on one and one on the other. This also only requires connecting to the upfitters, as the harness plug into the lights individually.

Super simple... Reach out to Adam (@4x4TruckLEDs.com). Great pricing as well.

Here a links to the products for connecting your wires.

I just had to rewrite by triple BD fogs as a squirrel decided to much my wiring harness. Read about these in this forum - ordered off Amazon. Follow The Car Stereo Company Wiring post and use these - self soldering butt end connectors!

I like these solder seal connectors but they look like they are for one wire connecting to another.

I have a power wire from each of the three fog lights on a side, a power wire leading over to the other side for those lights, and a power wire coming from the source.

So five wires need to be joined together. This is being done with a butt connector right now but seems like the wrong connector to use and possibly one of the reasons they are not working correctly.

I read the article on the car stereo forum. Excellent article but it also does not say how to properly join so many wires together.

I stand corrected. There’s actually only four wires to join together. Digging in more this morning there is a relay up near the battery. What comes down from up there is one ground wire and two power wires so there is one power wire for each side of the truck.

Each light on the passenger side has a power wire (3 total). This has to be connected to the power wire coming from the relay (1 total). So that’s four wires that need joined together. Currently this is a butt connector where the power wire from the relay is on one side and the three power wires from each fog light (one from each) are in the other side. It’s this three wires into one side of a butt connector that does not seem right.

But heck maybe if I spread the copper strands on all three fog light wires and on the source power wire those solder seal connectors will be good enough. No way it actually seals in between three wires on one side but maybe it’s good enough.

Now ground wire is shares from the battery to the three lights on the passenger side and then a wire running over to the driver side. There are five wires total to be joined. But maybe same thing.

Just didn’t seem like the right way to do it which is why I posted.

Here is one where you can see the thicker red wires coming down from the relay and the thicker black wire also coming from the relay getting joined to the passenger side lights.
