I just replaced all the Sony factory speakers in my truck. I wanted to get rid of the factory muddy sounding sony speakers. I installed all new Infinity Kappa 6x8's. Wow what a difference it made. They are running off of the factory amp and sound great. I am sure if I ran them through an after market amp they would sound even better but I have other projects to do, and I just wanted something that sounded better then stock. I am planning on replacing the factory tweeters next. Here are the speakers I went with

Yeah I did it myself. Wasn't to bad to get the panels off. The hardest part was the black trim piece behind the door handle. The trim panel kit I have didn't fit behind there. So I took a metal coat hanger and bent it to pull the panel off. I would so it was easy after that. I first door took about 20 min. The other doors I would say about 10 min each. Honestly the hardest part was securing the attached crossovers.

Just wondering do both sets of tweeters function the one in the doors and the one in the pillars the way you have it set up.

The treble must me amazing. And you didn't replace the sub?

I haven't replaced it yet. I am looking to buy a new nav unit and sub first. I have my old Kenwood DNX-5120 that I had in my old truck and a single Kicker L5 sub. The sub won't fit in a Scab under the rear seat and I don't want to lose any seating. I will eventually go with the same sub and box that Bird has. I will also go with a new Alpine nav unit. Just have to do one project at a time.

Does anyone know what size the center dash speaker is?

Do you have any pics with your aftermarket speaker installed without the door panel re-installed by any chance?

I never even knew we had a center dash speaker! U sure? I have the 12' and I never noticed one, sorry if I'm mistaken
