hey guys im new here and although i dont have a raptor, i was hoping to make my 2011 xlt pretty close to a raptor. everyone at the f150forum has told me its impossible and just save for a raptor but im thinking its not that hard. one person actually directed me to this forum in the hopes that i would get some better info or someone who has already started a project like this. i dont want to make a replica raptor and stick raptor logos or a 6.2 emblem on my 5.0 but i do want it to perfom pretty close to it. in the end i want my truck too look almost like this minus the fogs on top:

i know it will take money, but it will be a slow process.
any help or advice is greatly appreciated. even negative ones....

Find someone on here that's selling there front fenders, and if they are ditching the bed(maybe Raptizzle, Chrisandalex1 or SPRSNK) buy that from them and then figure out you're suspension depending on 2 or 4wd.

As far as performance, what kinda driving are you looking to do, high speed, technical, rock crawling etc etc.

And most importantly, what's you're budget?

my xlt is a 4x4. and my type of driving would be a mixture of everything. not too extreme but i would love to know that if i needed to go 40+mph in semi rough terrain that would be cool (i know the raptor can do way better). ive already looked at a suspension system that offers close to raptor specs and cost roughly 3 grand. so overall my budget would be in the $5,000-7000 range.

What suspension systems are you looking at?

3K for front end, plus shocks, plus install or is that included in the 3K?
Rear you're looking at $1325 for springs, then you need shocks
Plus rims and tires at another 1200-2K depending on what you want to run

Luckily for you most of this can be done in steps so you can save $ while looking for used parts

which is exactly what im going to do. just took a look at you classifieds section and this is starting to look promising.

suspension wise, i found this:
4wd Performance Kit | Camburg Engineering
not sure how it will perform but also looks promising.

I've got Camburg's front end on the 2 trucks that I currently own and can tell you they are the best in the industry. You won't be disappointed one bit

If you're talking about $7K in mods, I'd seriously just sell your XLT and put that money toward a Raptor. At the end of the day you'll never recoup what you spend in mods to make the XLT more like what you want, but the Raptor will hold it's value - within reason.

Just my $0.02 worth on the matter.
