I hope it is okay for me to have joined the forum even though I have not purchased/ordered my new Raptor yet. Should have that completed in the next couple of weeks or so. Despite that I am already thinking of minor changes and upgrades I will be making and hoping that Ford gets the notorious transmission/driveshaft "clunk" worked out before my truck comes off the assembly line. I have been looking through the Raptor Forum and am impressed and amazed by the info you guys have already shared. Good work!
The Raptor is the first production off road vehicle that has impressed me since they started making the Hummer H1 or the Unimog. Neither the H1 nor the Unimog (obviously) would have suited my needs but the Raptor, on the other hand, is a beautiful piece of machinery. It's about time at least one of the Big Three started making a truck that is really worth talking about. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
For the record I will be ordering an Ingot Silver, 6.2L Supercab. I will be using it for the usual day to day stuff but will also head up into the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the summer to the middle of nowhere looking for that secret trout stream. In the fall I will be using it for my annual hunting trips in California, Nevada and Colorado. I'm pretty sure I won't be doing an desert racing but will certainly see plenty of dirt roads, rocks, old skid roads, snow and mud. I can hardly wait.
