Found a new Flowmaster catback system and the price was good, so I thought I'd take a chance on it since I've liked American Thunder Systems on my cars. Here are the specs:

Flowmaster American Thunder SS Catback P/N 817551
3.5" mandrel bent all the way back
Single in - single out 50 Series HD - New P/N specifically for the 6.2 so I was told
All T409 stainless
Torca Accuseal exhaust clamps
Welded 4" chrome exhaust tip

Install was pretty straight forward. Dropped the spare, and jacked up the back of the truck until the tires almost lifted off the ground. My resonator was rusted enough that I couldn't separate it from the system, but no matter, the whole system still slipped out easily. You have to move the forward hanger ahead and down a couple of inches to a pair of existing holes (see pics). The bolts that connect to the head pipe from Flowmaster were too short, but I happened to have some in the shop that were an inch longer so I used them instead.

I'm personally not a big fan of chrome on my truck so I took the chrome off, scuffed and degreased the whole system, and gave it several coats of VHT header paint. The whole install (sans the painting) was about 1.5 hours, including a short break for creeper repair!

My 2011 Crew has an Airaid CAI and I'm running 87 perf 5-Star tune. Flowmaster's dyno sheet only shows a couple horsepower, but sure feels like a pretty good increase in torque on the low-mid range. It also seems like my "intake honk" or whatever you want to call it is gone now. Maybe I just can't hear it anymore.

I've only driven it about 75 miles, some interstate running. You can hear it, but I wouldn't say there is any drone. Cold start is noticeably louder (the wife knew something was up right away when I fired it up in the garage). I got the hands on the hips and the "what are you doing now look".

Seems like a pretty good quality system. Fits nice. Clears the spare by about 1.5" and the tail pipe tucks up high and tight. The muffler fits up inside the frame rail nicely. We'll see if I still like it in a few weeks.

I don't want to break any forum rules, but want to give my fellow Raptor owners a heads up. I paid $417 with free shipping (large booksellers website). The system went up $10 in the last week, but they are still offering the free shipping right now.

I know, post some videos...I'll try to figure that out.

Looks good! Sounds like a great deal on it too. Got it from Amazon?

Interesting that your resonator was rusted. I need to put eyes on that.

I was kinda hoping for a pic of that "hands on the hips and the 'what are you doing now look'". :)

Nice review. I like how the tailpipe is tucked up high. I don't understand why the OEM system exits so low to the ground. I'm off road a lot and that's one of the three minor gripes I have with the truck (lack of headlight brightness and poor quality speakers were the other two, both of which have been addressed). I'm torn between this exhaust or the Magnaflow.

I think that the height of the exhaust tips on the factory system is to provide enough space between the bottom of the fender and the exhaust to prevent the painted fender from becoming discolored by exhaust deposits and from being damaged by excessive heat. That plastic heat shield on the bottom of the fender has me convinced that the SVT team was thinking about that.

I think the plastic shield is for rocks thrown from the tires...
