Gen 1 actually has a shorter overall first gear ratio compared with the TRX. The TRX has a slightly shorter 2nd gear ratio, but not by much. Not seeing where you’re coming up with 3 seconds when the TRX with more power and similar weight is doing 3.7, which is already incredibly fast for an off road truck. And that’s with launch control and full time 4WD as well. The slightly shorter ratios of the 10R wouldn’t net anything close to a full second in 0-60 time.
Yeah, just wishful thinking out loud. Sorry about that.
But it would put me in the 3's with a 10 speed for sure.
And keep in mine I'm still all stock exhaust,
with headers and better exhaust I probably would be right at 4 if not better.

There is a shop in Maryland doing Twin-turbo Coyote swaps. The first one off the dyno put down right around 1000 HP. I'd say the minimum you'll get done there for is probably 35K as well.

You can go to hypercar in NC, and depending on what you opt for, you can plan on 38K-55K. you'll be at about 750HP from them.

You could do a Coyote swap and hit up Petty's Garage for the Blower, supporting parts and tune. Petty's version throws down a smidge over 800HP. ( contact Texas motorworx for the Petty bits. )

Or you can stick with an ecoboost and talk to RMB in NJ. The sky is the limit. You can go from "stage 1" and the way up to " I don't care what 1500HP will cost me, do it!"

There are other options, But I can't speak to them. The options listed above, I have either Personally driven/seen, or have friends/acquaintances that own the trucks.

In all cases, transmission upgrades ( clutches, etc.) are warranted. If you go V8 swap, the transmission MUST be changed. ( bellhousing is different.)

The choice is yours. Gotta Pay to play.
Go V8

I don't have any insight as to the max, but per Ford's specifications the transmission is designed to handle a maximum input torque of 800Nm, which is 590 lb-ft.
We have yet to open a 10r80 that was thought to be healthy and is anywhere near 600 whp and it not have E&F drums smoked 100%

We have a v8 package coming out with a plug and play ecu that will make the best Motec look like child’s play. 3 options NA, blower, and twins

Three ecoboost versions too, no difference in power to the coyote of the 5.8 we have as a option when we drop the public announcement that they are in stock for sale

Exciting either way

Pics or it didn’t happen.
It didn’t happen, we want to offer a fully developed ecu that is like nothing available for the v8’s and the 9 months of engineering the ecu for v8 says it will, and all the v6 packages happen daily. Pics happened too. They float around, and best way to talk about these is to toss you the keys for a ride, it don’t lie and these are 4.2l versions some billet valve covers some are epoxy 8 step paint process, some Garrett g series some Efr turbos, but all will hurt your neck when they spool and make 30 pounds of boost before2800 rpm and all have our new timing drive parts 76a562f5c4072a1cd5173bebd4d4dd48.jpg

I'd be curious to hear more about what people believe the limitations are in the 10R80. Any concerns with super torquey stock frame turbo setups causing damage to anything?

We have factual info on the limits of them. We build them all and 600 whp even if they are feeling good they are smoked and bearing inside converter hub is trashed and if it is gone fluids done and 99.9% E&F clutches. We add additional steels and clutches that are machined and hardened to help and a sub coast converter as well as some other special sauce and it’s great and shifts like butter and lasts so far on dozens

Thanks for shedding some light. What kind of turbo setups are these usually running? I'm just curious about if the clutches are getting fried from higher torque loads or if it's large torque spikes down low from fast spooling setups. I doubt my truck will ever see anything in the way of upgraded turbos but I'd imagine at some point I'll get it tuned. If there's potential to damage the trans from low speed torque spikes then that'd be good to know.
