I find it hard to believe that people are able to get these under MSRP. Dealers with MY17 are still asking over sticker. During my hunt for a Raptor, I was going as far as looking for small dealers out in the middle of BFE to see if they had any...thinking that maybe they’d be interested in making a deal since they more than likely don’t sell a lot of vehicles. Well, my thought process was somewhat correct. Due to their low volume sales, some of these dealers didn’t even receive any allocations for the truck.

There was a dealer a dealer in Ga that had a Raptor available in Leadfoot. They were asking $5k over sticker. I told them that I’m interested and looking to pay nothing over MSRP; I tell them that up front so I don’t waste either of our times. Her response to my comment was “if you really want the truck then paying $5k over sticker shouldn’t matter.”. Uh, yeah, I want the truck but I don’t want it thaaaat bad.

As of yesterday, my patience paid off and I was able to secure an order and pay MSRP. I’m ok paying MSRP.

Guys just take your time. Deals can be found.. maybe under sticker but don't plan on it... I found my 801A at sticker and have it shipped for less than what a dealer wants for a 800A at the local dealership...

Nope - it is the norm now. Anyone buying over that is paying way too much.

Is it just me or does this exactly mirror the (formerly known as Mcnawsty but currently known as banned user) posts that ended in October?

Are more dealerships starting to give deals? Sounds like it.

Are dealerships giving invoice? Good luck with that, you might find a dealership that will get close but my guess is they won't have many allocations.

I can (today) go down to the big city dealerships in Minnesota and will find that every one has an ADM. The amount may vary but they have an ADM. Could I talk one down? Probably, but to invoice? You are deluded to think that is the new norm and the forum users who are currently purchasing new vehicles are saying the same thing.

It's definitely Mcnawsty / Sasquatch. I don't understand why he's so persistent on these forums

I'd say MSRP is the new norm these days, save for some specific geographies like the PacNW and especially wealthy California regions. Just a quick look on the Facebook group shows a number of dealers advertising at MSRP, although mostly along the east cost

I think what you are saying is so much more accurate than people saying 1k over invoice is the norm. I live in Houston and I have called about 30 different dealers. Almost all of them start off with 5k over MSRP some even asking 10k over. They will go down from there, but they seem pretty much firm at no lower than MSRP. I did order mine at MSRP from Gullo Ford as they had legit allocation and I know it will come in. I placed the order in Oct and my build date in next week. I'm hoping to have it by Christmas. I could go to a dealer and pay MSRP after some haggling but I would still have to pay the 2k for the sticker package that I did not want. That's not to mention what kind of game they will try to play on a trade in amount to make up what they feel like they gave up on the sales amount.

I believe very few people on forums who say that got their truck for some crazy low price. We have to remember that this is the internet and there will always be people who want to be better than everyone else. They will always stretch the truth to make it seem like they got the best deal ever, but hardly any of them will ever actually verify their actual sales price with hard proof. There will always be a person here or there that run a business and buys 5-10 vehicles a year from a local dealer that may get a Raptor at +/- invoice, but these people are exceptions not the norm by any chance.

Also maybe if you call every dealer in a 5 state area you may find one willing to sell a truck on the lot 2-3k off of MSRP just to meet some monthly sales goal or whatever. Those deals can be found in a fairly rare event, but then you have to pay for a flight to go pick up your truck, drive it 10+ hours home, spend a few hundred on gas etc. You may still come out "ahead" on a pure price stand point, but that is a huge amount of time and effort to save a net 1k or so.

In the end the good out of any of these forums is if people are just honest about what they are paying so everyone can really know what the true current market price is for these trucks. As Helopilot put it I do think that asking 3-5k ADM is the norm, and actually buy at MSRP is the norm or maybe even a little below the norm. Not saying that maybe 5% of all buyers are not getting something better than that, but the true norm is most likely MSRP or a little above.

People travel for deals. I have NEVER bought a vehicle locally. Set your spec and your price point and you will find it. Closest vehicle I ever purchased was 1.5hrs away. Furthest was 9hrs away.
