Does it need to be a ball. Why not use a surf fishing pyramid weigh or a cannonball sinker? I know the cannonball sinkers can be up to 24 oz. That will break glass. Check out Cabela's...

Downrigger balls for fishing should be plenty heavy and at least around here can be found at fishing supply store. They are for the most part lead as you can imagine.

Bowling balls are free a lot of times they need to get rid of the old ones. Just go ask at an ally. Or I was thinking if it don't need to be round just go buy a hammer and take the Handel off.

thanks everyone. i am looking for something approximately 10-15lbs. dropped from 15" it needs to be heavy enough to break tempered and laminate glass.

I don't think you'll break tempered glass with those measurements and weight... unless the glass is fairly thin.

I tried breaking tempered glass doors I got off a job site. It took me several swings with a 15lb sledge hammer!
