Name's BJ and I've recently picked up a low mile 2012 SCREW Raptor in TuxBlack w/ a Roush 2.3TVS, Lux Package, Nav, Peragon Bed Cover and immediately added WeatherTech digital cut mats front and rear, Mid-Perch, Autometer boost gauge in the Roush vent Pod, 12" antenna, and replaced the stock muffler w/ two stainless straight pipes allowing the truck to growl a little better
I'm pretty much a hardcore chevy guy, once had a car on the cover of GM High Tech Performance fresh out of high school, and have since owned multiple modded vettes, w/ the last being the below cam'd, long tubed, nitrous C6 Z06...
Had a second child and the wife wanted me to rid myself of going racing every other weekend so I sold the Vette and got a JK Rubicon Unlimited. The mods started right away w/ a bunch of poison spyder stuff, warn powerplant, aluminum raceline beadlocks, rock crawler x factor lift, 5.13's, axle sleeves, gussets, 37's, etc., etc.,
one of the toughest step-ups I've encountered...
Of the trips to Uwharrie, numerous local trails, etc., my favorite thing to do w/ the JK was to load up the family and the Yeti's w/ cold beverages and head to the beach...
early pic of the JK;
Sooo, I eventually grew tired of the JK and the pitiful power plant that it came w/ and decided to make a change. And that's when I started looking at something that I'd never own being a hardcore chevy guy - a Ford...
I've always loved the look of the Raptors and decided to take the plunge. Found one right before Thanksgiving and picked it up immediately. I'll soon be getting it looked over and re-tuned at the ever popular Ford performance shop Fastlane Motorsports of Benson, NC which is also local to me (featured over and over in several mustang mags, at mustang week in myrtle beach, etc...) They installed the first two Roush blowers on the 5.0 Ford F150 (outside of the one truck Roush themselves did) and know Fords like the back of their hands so I trust them in making sure everything's right w/ new rig. For what it's worth they've also done 100's of lightnings, thousands of Mustangs, and a few roush supercharged 6.2 raptors and F150's so I have no worries.
Not sure of what I'll be doing next to the Raptor other than RPG stage 2, wheels and tires, front bumper, lights, onboard air and a new tune but I'm sure it'll be heavily influenced by you all on this site. Thanks for having me
I know, I know - Velociraptors get no love in general but I've looked it over and it's really just a roush supercharger installed according to the directions provided by Roush. And remember, it'll be getting looked over again and re-tuned, etc., by one of the top ford performance shops in the nation (Fastlane Motorsports http://www.youtube.com/user/FastlaneMotorsports/videos) soooo, again - I have no worries... Already put put about 1500 miles on it and it's been as flawless as a stock raptor, except w/ a bigger smile when pressing the loud pedal
