Man... I never owned a American made vehicle in my life... four E63s, 911 turbos , panamera turbos.. you get the point - I told the fiancé I was going to get a raptor, she said I will get bored of it.. I thought she was probably right. Wrong. 7 months later I ******* love this big sofa.. I will preorder a 2020 if they make major changes, it has everything I would want in a TRUCK... it’s not a turbo Porsche, my buddy has the Rebel, the touch screen is cool. Everything else I would pass on. Sounds like you should get the Ram, to each is their own.

I have the 802 a according to my build sheet.

Some people will understand what I am saying some won't. I have owned in excess of 200 or 300 vehicles. If this was my first truck I would probably be on the moon. I think they blew it with this engine in this application, you can get the same engine in a Limited and its faster, seems like a bad strategy to me.

I am not brand loyal, it is what it is... I know guys that think their brand is the best and will argue till they die. I judge each vehicle on its own merits. Where I live it sounds like the benefits of a Raptor are not usable, my bad for buying it.

The Ram base stereo will blow away the F-150 B&O system. Ram basically put woofers in the front doors. My brother has a Rebel and I’m always jealous of his factory stereo.

Stereo improvement is an easy issue. Swap out speakers, swap out amp, add DSP, etc. You can keep everything looking stock and have amazing sound. For some people, stereo sound isn’t a priority for others it is. “Five Star a Car Stereo” have tons of F-150 install youtube videos.

200-300 vehicles? Sounds a bit like Wilt the Stilt Chamberlain who bragged about banging 10,000 women. I remember Howard Stern ringing a bell for months, like every ten minutes, counting down Wilt’s conquests.

My thoughts exactly. Assuming you started driving at 16 and are now 66, that’s 4 to 6 cars PER YEAR...EVERY YEAR...for your entire lifetime...

I like my Raptor, but for some reason a lot of reviews say how fast the truck is like it is some kinda rocket ship. It's moderately fast for a truck, but no where near sports car level or for that matter no where near high end SUV level. My wife has a Supercharged Range Rover that will throw your head back when you punch the gas, the Raptor is no where near that level. Also the RR was a 110k SUV compared to a 70k truck, so there are levels to the game.

I am a little surprised you don't like the radio, as I thought the BO system was perfectly fine. It's a step up from a base system, but still below the level of some other cars (most notably the Bang and Olufsen system that was in my M6). I have not heard the Ram stereo's though. The new Ram's interior is nice in the limited, but the interior on the Rebel package is crap to me. I am out on all of the red trim with the tire prints on the seats.

I did order a tune for my truck, and I am excited to see if it does give it a little more power. I do feel like the truck can be a tad sluggish at times, not horrible by any means just a little less than I was hoping for.

My question is you said you drove a first gen and loved it. Every first gen I drove was the exact same in the fact it wasn't fast on the top end. It's a truck. Its not supposed to be fast on the road. I agree with everyone. If you didn't buy it to use off road then there is no point in keeping it. Buy a Ram or buy something like a grand Cherokee track hawk. You'd probably be happier.

I've said this several times before when some Raptor owner complains about what the Raptor WON'T do...
I learned that a fair amount of people bought this truck not because it was the truck to fill a need, but rather a truck with a "cool factor" attached....and just couldn't live up to it's "cool" reputation...

This is a truck whose primary design parameters were to cover desert like terrain at speeds higher then any other truck off the dealers floor and do it in a high level of comfort...

It's true many people (about 50% I'm told) buy this truck and never take it off road...those who know EXACTLY what this truck is don't complain...those that didn't do their homework do...

I feel in love with the Raptor concept in 2010 and dreamed about owning one because that truck was built to do exactly what I do...and in 2018 that dream was realized...

Just 2 days ago I met up with 3 other Raptor owners in the Mojave desert and the 4 of used this truck exactly for what it was designed to do and it never failed to deliver...running the desert at higher speeds in comfort...and into the wee hours of the night...first time running the Raptor in the dark...

I drive my truck almost every day and on weekends get it all dusty...:)

Ditto. I presently have a 911 Turbo, a GT-R and a similar history as above and my $70k AG Raptor is the best money I have spent—I have had my big brick sofa two years now and drive the heck out of it ON & OFF road and it’s awesome. I can drag my dirt bikes wherever I need and this thing is so comfortable and capable I will always have one. My wife, who won’t even get in any of my other cars, steals my truck all the time I set the guise of getting dirt/flowers for the yard. Whenever they do anything substantial to the Raptor, I will def get another.
