I don't know about you, but I grew very tired of my coin tray sliding all over the center console. Every turn, it would slide from one side to the other. I didn't want to get rid of the tray, because it has great storage. But the noise had to go. I also needed it to stay on one side so I could access the area below.

Here is my solution. 2 paper binders from any office desk. Put the tray on one side, clamp the clips on the rail next to the tray, and you are done. The tray can still be taken in or out as needed, but it will not slide around as you drive.

Hope this helps someone.

Your solution = $400
My solution = .40¢

I am not ready to go that route yet. My worry is if the thieves find a safe in the car, they will kick or hammer the plastic until they get in causing know telling how much damage.

I did the same clips for 8-10 months then bought the full tray. I like having the full tray now that I'm used to it.

Yours looks much cleaner than the one I have, but I wanted the wider lid for more access and as much lockable space as possible. And it keeps the tray firmly in place on either side as well, downside is taking the tray out when I access the safe.

My safe is a fully enclosed steel box that mounts to the truck. I like it because it only takes up 1/2 the console space unlike the Ford option.

It was annoying yes! Good Solution. I used a 1/2" wide strip of black duct tape across the front and rear channel and it works great. Very low profile solution too.

I picked up a console organizer from one of the vendors on this forum. Keeps small stuff easy to reach and has room underneath for larger items I don't need on a frequent basis.
