My oct order 37 pkg at msrp is now getting a dealer markup so I'm out.

The EV tax credit is a credit against your total tax liability for the year. It’s not based on the number turbo tax spits out at the end for your refund. It’s based on the total tax you owe for the year. It’s capped if you owe less than $7500 (or whatever the amount based on specs and # of vehicles produced) to what your total tax liability is for that year. So if you only owe $3000 in tax the credit will wipe that out and you owe/pay 0 tax. The “no refund” comes in in that situation. They aren’t going to give you a free $4500 on top of that.
that's what I said. and also said I hope I was wrong. its a credit and not a refund. so if you owe nothing you get nothing. you have to owe to get the credit. so change dependents so you owe. did you read my post?

My federal tax credit for solar installed back in 2015 totalled about $7500. IIRC, the rules then allowed you to carry it forward up to 3 years if you needed to.

37 pkg Blk with Blk interior decal and start stop delete Moonroof/tailgate spray in Bedliner Sticker $79,815. Truck is already built dealer wants me to pay market price which as of now is 10k over. I emailed ford vp of customer service for help but received no reply.I even suggested shipping to a dealer that sells with no mark up. I'm NOT advertising for this dealer. I would only order a Raptor @MSRP 7months later they lied by adding mark up. TOTAL ********! IF I didn't work for Ford Motor Company I would swithe dealer

That's none of your business Nex.

All I am saying is that's where most people pay their taxes. The "refund" at the end of the year means you paid too much taxes in your paychecks. So you get your money back. You have to pay if they don't take out enough in your paychecks.

This makes no sense. When I reserved my dealer ordered vehicle I was given a bill of sale style vehicle hold with all the taxes and prices in it which I put a deposit down on which basically says this is what I will get the vehicle for regardless if Ford prices go up, etc.

OK. That's all fine and good.

I'm saying 60% of Americans pay no income tax *at all*. If any federal income tax is withheld from their checks (assuming they work), it's all refunded come tax time. They pay nothing.

1. The dealer is an independent business and is not Ford. Your state's dealer franchise laws probably tie Ford's hands so they can't help you even if they wanted to.

2. The dealers have empty lots but they still have to pay the bills. They are only getting a few of the vehicles they want from Ford. They have to pay the bills and you blame them for trying to get the most profit in this market. There will probably be a lot of dealers that go out of business in the next year or so.

So it's a really bad situation all around.
