I have been trying to create the ultimate music library in my truck. Between a few friends collections, I should have 20,000+ songs soon. I can get a USB flash drive that can store it, but the factory system does not like that much. It says index full at just over 3000 songs and it is really slow to "explore USB" and find the folder one is looking for. I have used friends ipods through the USB and they work great. Its easy to scroll and find the song on the ipod screen. I was thinking about going a step farther and getting a ipad like tablet that has expandable memory and can connect through the USB. I was thinking I would find one a similar size to the factory screen and mount this right above. Its main use would be music storage and selection. Not sure if they have it as an option, but it would be cool if the tablet also had a video input for a front camera.
Thoughts on this? I am going to see what I can find at the store tomorrow. I know the ipad does not have an option to add a memory card.
