But such a purpose built niche vehicle that’s otherwise completely impractical has never stopped all the exotic companies from selling all their cars at big markups. This truck should be the same, most won’t be used for what they’re designed for but plenty of people would pay deep into the 6 figures for a road legal race truck.
Im lucky enough to work at a family owned ford dealer thats large enough to get allocations. They are going to honor D plan for me. Outside of that, we do MSRP in state 2500 ADM out of state to rey and keep it local. They did come off for some other members.I completely agree, like the Bronco DR. I think Raptor R buyers will be mostly (not all) very connected guys who will only own it as a bragging right. Probably do a few burnouts and hit the dirt a time or two then drive to the country club and dinner occasionally.
Well, from a cost to produce wise, it could very well cost more to remove seats and cage than it would be to load it with the luxuries.
And I have my doubts that there really is a market for a non-lux Raptor R. If there were, then Ford would have kept the SCAB, no?
I think they will sell a lot, but they're bound to lose the hp war because Fiat can bump theirs any time they want with existing engines. I don't see Ford going big enough to win the numbers game. Fiat will always have the biggest d i c k. The only way I see Ford coming out ahead is with an off road truck that blows the TRX away in the dirt. Otherwise they just spent a shit load of money to stay in second place. That would be really, really dumb. But I haven't been impressed with the marketing department, so I'm going to bet they will stay in second place. I would be thrilled to be proven wrong.Either way, they're going to sell all that they make, and win back the HP bragging rights, which was the whole point of this vehicle anyway.
Likely. And that's why they probably won't do it. Higher profit margin with the foofoo stuff and they know most will never go off road.
Not really. Had the SCAB been caged and mid-travelled without the lux fluff, then yes.

The markup will vary highly from market to market. Some markets are $25k-$35k for 37 package. One dealer told me he has buyers willing to pay $150k+ for the R when it comes out. I will try to maximize my Gen3 enjoyment for few years before considering the R.95k plus options with a 30k average mark up is my guess

Well, I really can't say what the market is for brand new expensive trucks that are stripped down and ready to beat up.
Sort of. The days of blown V8s in Dodges are numbered. I don't think they mentioned RAM, though. I could be wrong, but I think the door is open to continue using the Hellcat in trucks. My point is that if Ford beats TRX hp by a few, RAM can bump it another hundred by dropping in an existing engine. Ford can't win that race without spending way more than it would be worth. I'd rather see them spend the money on something more useful than a d i c k measuring contest. But that's just me. Contests of that sort are very popular.Well, hasn't Fiat already said the TRX days are numbered? Will they really try and one up them again? Besides, you could argue that the latest crop of EV trucks are already beating out the dinosaurs. If not now, then hybrids and EVS certainly seem to be the way forward in terms, for this contest anyway.
