This is for the TVS and whipper guys. Is anyone running a smaller pulley to up the boost? I also see ATI makes a 12% overdrive harmonic balancer that would bump the boost up a hair also. What seems to be the max boost level that's still safe? Would a set of head studs be a good idea? I'm just looking to get a little more out of my truck.

Before you start increasing the boost beyond what the makers of the SC you have recommends, make sure you upgrade the oil pump gear set first.

Its a 2014 Roush. Im running the JDM 650hp upgrade which is the 65mm throttle body, colder plugs and his tuning. I also have the AFCO cooler with electric fans. I just ordered the billet gears and ATI balancer. Im looking to push boost up to 10-12lbs. If thats still a safe limit. If what it is, is what it is, then im fine leaving well enough alone. But I drove a Roush Charged 2016 F150 5.0 and now I need more power.

I would talk to JDM specifically about the thermal limitations of that package. We have a completely different approach to making big power with the Raptors and HD's. There is no reason that you should not be able to t-rex stomp on a new Roush Coyote, WITH THE RIGHT SETUP.

And keep in mind a regular F150 is lighter and runs smaller diameter tires.

You may want to think about doing gears.

Generally speaking, it would be the better choice to opt for the larger harmonic dampner vice the smaller upper pulley since it increases surface area and decreases belt slippage, of course this is dependent on the amount of boost increase.

However I agree like Livernois said you need to provide more info. You should be providing datalogs and basing your decision on what the data says, as well as what your shop says about their performance upgrades. Boost is just a measurement of backpressure so 2psi in one application is a lot different from 2psi in other applications.

Most of our Whipple trucks run a 3.25" upper and make about 8-9 psi boost. We've had a few customers drop down to a 3.125" @ 10psi who really want to push the limits.

Roush TVS trucks we usually run the 75mm Phase 2 pulley again 8-9 psi and when that's not enough we sell a 72mm that brings it to about 10 psi.

Any more boost than about 10 psi and your going to start maxing out your factory fuel system. Even with larger 47# or 60# injectors.

When running higher boost levels you should always consider a set of Billet Oil Pump gears to be on the safe side. http://www.teamjdm.com/raptor-f-150-f-250-6-2l-billet-oil-pump-gear-upgrade/

Here is how we would recommend modifying that Raptor from where it is currently to gain more safe power VS where it is limited by the TVS.

Livernois Motorsports Windstorm CAI
Livernois Motorsports Race Series CNC ported heads
Livernois Motorsports Powerstorm Billet Oil Pump Gears
Whipple 2.9L Supercharger
Stainless steel long tube headers
Livernois Motorsports Thunderstorm Cat-Back
Livernois Motorsports Firestorm Upgraded fuel pump
Livernois Motorsports EvenFlo thermostat

This will make just short of 600 wheel, and be just as reliable as stock.
