Just as the title reads. Was looking for opinions on how big of an improvement the new 5 link rear will be on the Gen3 over the Gen2 with upgraded leaf springs, bump stops, and KHC torque arm? I have my 2018 with 35,000 miles and I’m debating upgrading the rear as stated with some eibachs up front vs trading up to a Gen3 with the 37 package. I love my Gen2 and have quite a lot in mods on the truck already just haven’t started the suspension yet. I daily my truck and take it camping and on blasts through forest roads frequently so a good amount of dirt time. The 2Kw power inverter on the Gen 3 is very appealing too. Opinions? Thoughts?

How soon do you want it? Unless you have money to burn, it will probably be a couple of years before you can get a gen3 at invoice ...

Not sure but for example deavers in the rear is probably the single best upgrade for suspension IMO. The stock leafs are literally garbage. They will curb a lot of all wrap too. I’d start there before going crazy with a torque arm.

Just wait and see what the aftermarket world offers. They will all be offering gen 3 style rear suspension for the earlier generations if it proves to be a success. You can then judge whether or not the whole truck needs to be replaced.

You'd be just fine with modding the GEN2 over GEN3 and not doing the torque arm. Just Deaver's and bumps. That's what I'll do but adding the Fox Factory shocks as well.

Appreciate the feedback! Pretty much what I wanted to hear. One of my biggest complaints is how the rear of the truck behaves off-road even with tire pressures aired down. Deavers, bumps, and eibachs it is! Thanks y’all

Before dumping a bunch of $$$ on suspension for my bone stock 6.2 Gen1 I think ill.leave it stock and wait for the Gen3. Even with the odd looking front end.
