Stock for stock Gen II beats the J1 handily in every comparison thinkable, except for that sweet sweet oh so sweet sound. It's the sweet thing. That's why the J1 jerkers are here on this sub forum.
you guys are missing the point. every gen 1 owner is trying to compare a modded truck to a stock truck... "well throw a blower on and ill blow it away" i sure hope you would but that is just the mentality of a thick headed moron.
stock for stock there is no comparison, people need to stop being so full of themselves and just admit that FORD produced a truck that is better then the older version...
like i said before, that is the goal of the manufacture, and if the gen 1 owners cant see that then they are blind.
stop trying to compare modded trucks to a stock truck...
and who the hell cares if someone likes to do a couple pulls on the pavement? its all in fun and people enjoying something they bought, whats wrong with that?
Well yes, but rather they're based on objective fact. My opinion, your opinion and to the larger extent the subjective J1 jerkers opinion do not matter when we've all seen the progression of the new truck and the trickle of new information over the last year. They're facts. The difference is that I accept that as fact, and you're in denial.
We've witnessed the J1 fade into insignificance during this time, and it's irrelevance is accelerating with every new piece of information gathered. This is why the J1 jerkers are posting here on this sub forum. They don't want the J1 to fade into obscurity, and they're really upset about it.
why are gen 1 owners installing superchargers? you sure as **** don't need all that off road....
I guess both you geniuses missed this part of my post: Arguing a faster truck is faster is dumb.
I never said a Gen 2 wasn't better stock for stock which is why I made the above statement. I also plan to buy one down the road after a year or two when Ford adds more to this new Generation as they did in the past. You two should get over yourselves. What you don't understand because you don't own trucks yet is what has been said over and over but you refuse to hear. Your stock Gen 2 truck will beat a Gen 1 truck there is no denying that, but the more HP and it's faster BS doesn't matter when the suspension won't keep up PERIOD. Out of all the Gen 2 posts on FB I have only seen owner with it actually running in the desert and using how it should be used. The rest of you will be doing donuts in parking lots with an inch of snow acting like you're doing something special only a Raptor can do. Add some 22's and a leveling kit you have the power for it.

Gen 2 It's got a personality that says, "Hey man, how's my ass look in these skinny jeans?"
Gen 1 "Hey man, pick your teeth up off my boots."
The suspension on the Gen II has more range, larger shocks than the J1 as well. And, because it is lighter by 500 lbs it will outperform the J1 in how it's supposed to be used. Again, facts.
well, my post wasnt just directed to you but seems you took it to heart.... sorry about that little buddy.
of course your no going to see someone take a $65k truck and bring it into the woods right after signing the papers....
serious question, when the gen 1's came out how many of you brought it offroading right after purchasing it? and i dont mean you took the dirt road home... please... don't ******** either.
also, what maybe 100 people have these right now? maybe a little more? how many gen 1's are there in peoples hands plus look at the value of them... your going to see more willing to bring a 30-40k truck offroad then a brand new 17 they paid 60-70k for... the gen 1 is 7 years old, the gen 2 is a few months old... give it time, its common sense.
