Mid Perch vs. Leveling Kit

I live in west Houston and went to a nearby 4Wheel Parts to enquire about a mid perch mod. They advised they are not allowed to do them as one of their shops screwed one up previously. They offered me a leveling kit in place of the mods.

So, my questions:

What are the differences/ advantages/ disadvantages between the mid perch and the level?

Any recommendations in the West Houston area who could perform a proper mid perch modification?
