I know there is a thread about retro fitting. One person said it works the other said a tube hits the bottom (which im assuming could be trimmed) any confirmation on this?

Crawled under my 18 last night and I have a cast aluminum oil pan. The tranny pan is black plastic.

So I bought the oil pan and tube and dropped off at dealer today... we'll see if they fit!

I *think*
plastic pan tube = HL3Z-6622-A
metal pan tube = LK4Z-6622-A

A bunch of the ford parts sites left off the front 4 letters so I was quite confused.
Can’t wait to see the results and solve the riddle or it fitting or not.

How can some owners have continued and multiple leaks and others with 2 years of ownership have none?

Has to be more than just the pan to blame .
