Raptorians,

Bought Methods 17" last night, went in full passion to fit them on my truck, down there i found (they found) that stock nuts will not fit in the new wheels!!!! the seller gave me today black of suitable size black nuts and i should fit them tomorrow.

1. the Nuts are not Method, would that make any issues?
2. fitting the Method 17" on the stock tires would lead to any friction issues with front fenders? would i hear sounds upon going max turning steering to either direction???
3. can i fit 35" tires on those Methods 17" without changing front fenders to BOATEC or Glassworks???

Thanks

The stock nuts are too thick to fit into the holes on the Methods, if the new lug nuts you got still don't fit Chris at Freedom Motorsports can hook you up. As for the rub issues I can't offer too much because I was on mid perch when I installed my methods, I haven't experienced any rubbing on mid perch, stock could be a different story though. I have 35"s on mine and I still have the stock fenders.

Great news!!! So I'm almost set for the 35", I saw 37" yesterday and I believe they are a bit too much.

The stock tire size is roughly 34.5" so basically the stock tire is a 35, and while the 37"s certainly look good they do require some work to get them to fit!

answers-

1. Get Gorrilla nuts - black or chrome
2 and 3. Those are Double Standards, with 0" offset, so your tire WILL stick out further - but if you have the front shocks set to mid perch you will have no rubbing with a 35. mid-perch is the Fox recommended setting and your truck will look better at mid-perch . I am running those wheels, 35" toyo MTs, mid-perch - no rubbing.

Can you share photos of your truck please? would like to see those 35" on stock fenders, are you positive you have no friction issues? even on full turns? what about offroading? i mean mild off roading with no jumps or crazy bumps involved.
Thanks

Dan, I did not know that mid-perch is the Fox recommended setting...

Not sure if those words have ever left their mouths, but Raptor lore dating back to 2010 is that Fox tested and tuned the shocks on mid perch but DOT regulations limit the height of the Raptor from the factory.

And then there's this...
They can't come right out and say it, but they certainly don't make it sound like a bad idea. We've been reading between the lines for almost 4 years now!

They can't give any recommendation, that means they recommend it. Wink wink, nudge nudge.

FOX cannot give any recommendation to change the OEM FOX SVT Raptor shocks from their factory settings. The OEM FOX SVT Raptor shocks was designed with the ability to relocated the snap ring / spring retainer. This change allows for a level ride height and increased compression travel. Other Raptor owners have said that the middle snap ring grove setting provides the best offroad handling with some minimal on road characteristics changes. Vehicle realignment is required with any of these changes.

here ya go .. and yes Im positive they don't have "friction" lol … I researched a LOT before going with 0" offset, and my truck has been bounced pretty good in Moab.
