There are 2 in TX on the lot for $3000 over sticker. Brian Tolliver Ford. I didn't try to negotiate because the white one had $4000 in options I don't want and no CA emissions. Might be able to talk them down a bit.

Seems like every time I find a Raptor on a dealer's website and make an inquiry, I get an email back saying that truck isn't available and asking if I'd like to place an order. Meanwhile, the local dealer refuses to take $5K over. I think I'm going to give up looking for a truck for a while.

I'll probably cough up the dough for the technology package I don't want, but I think I'd refuse to pay 2 grand for a few stickers.

Doesn't apply to your post, but I also think it's kinda dumb to see 802As without heated rear seats and steering wheel. Better save that 280 bucks on a 65000 dollar truck.

If it's not practical why pay the extra money? You know some people actually care about how they spend their money lol

Yes, it's very logical for a financially conservative person to worry about two options that add up to 0.4% of the purchase cost when talking about a 65000 dollar truck.

Sooo... I'm the guy who had to back out of taking delivery of his truck because the transmission was ****** and had to be replaced. After I started the refund process on that truck, I checked out Anchorage Ford's website and saw a truck I liked and immediately made an offer for $5k over. I had previously made an offer for $2,500 over and had received a response asking for $7,500 over, so I thought making an offer right in the middle would get me the truck. According to the email response I got, $5k would've done it, but the truck had been sold the day before. I was told I could most likely order a truck for $5k over though if I wanted to.

So, I decided to check the Wasilla Ford dealer's website and saw they had two Avalanche Gray raptors, both listed at $15k over. I made the same offer for $5k over for one of them and it was refused. Actually the offer was ignored until I texted the salesman there the next day and he then told me that my offer was refused. I mentioned how the Anchorage dealer would let me order a truck for $5k over and since they're both Kendall dealerships, I should be able to get the truck for $5k over. My offer was again ignored until I sent a follow up and was told that it was refused. Also, the salesman at the Anchorage dealer sent me an email telling me he was told he could no longer order me a truck for $5k over. Clearly, the Wasilla dealer had called him to tell him not to let me order a truck for that price.

I was about to give up, but I decided to text the salesman at the local Kendall Audi/Porsche dealer who sold me my last Audi. I've purchased several vehicles there actually. Well, about an hour or so later the manager at Wasilla Ford called me back to tell me they've decided to take my offer after all after they got a call from the Porsche/Audi sales manager. And soon the sales weasel who kept ignoring/refusing my offers will be calling me to take my deposit. Delivery is the week of March 10th.

Besides being Avalanche Gray instead of Shadow Black, the truck I'm getting is missing carbon fiber trim. But it does have the black beadlock wheels, which I really wanted. I'm glad about that and happy to actually know I'll be getting a Raptor. But really, buying an overpriced pickup truck shouldn't require you to jump through hoops.

AKSteve,

Was it the Ruby Red you were looking at?

If so, that is the one I purchased. Same story/amount as what you are saying. I'm surprised that Wasilla was not accommodating. They kept calling/emailing me asking for me to come out and view the Blue and Avalanche ones. They also knew I was willing to go 2.5K over, why call me out there if they knew where I was?
