This is not true for the entire state. I bought my 2018 a year ago before the prices started to come down and I had 4 dealers in the Houston area who were at $1000-1500 below MSRP on a $68K optioned truck. I picked the one with the closest match to what I would have ordered myself. Other TX dealers still wanted $5-10K over, so you have to be willing to check around and keep searching until you find the right match at the right dealer.I did all of my research and negotiating online and over email, and never spoke to anyone until the day I walked into the dealership to pick it up. I did NOT have a trade so there was no BS about how much my low mileage Gen 1 was worth. I have used the same techniques to buy my last 8 vehicles and it took a little longer with my Gen 2, but not long enough to make me go out of state.
