Hello,
I received two messages in my Ford Pass App couple nights ago while my car was parked in the garage. The first stated the engine control system has detected one of the engines internal components is not responding as expected. The second message came in at the same time stating the powertrain control module lost communication with the rear lighting control module for a period of time. The check engine light also came up on my dash. Truck (2018 Raptor 30,000 miles) seems to be running perfectly normal.
I've tried a couple of dealerships near me but are booked for few days. is this probably a lighting issue? i don't notice anything different with taillights, etc.
Thanks

Depends if you have added lights, could be a short. If not the could be a battery issue or negative side issue. Id check those first

Hey guys. I just had the engine control system has detected one of the engines internal components is not responding.... error message pop up on the Ford Pass app for my 2019 F150. About 45 minutes after shutting it down the error message popped up on my phone and sure enough the check engine light was on when I went out and started up my truck again. It drives and sounds fine. Any thoughts on what it could be? Is it a common message that goes away on its own? I cannot get it into the dealer for a few days.... Thanks.

There are thousands of possible DTCs that can set a Check Engine Light. The only way to know what it's related to is to pull the DTCs.

I have the same problem going on with my truck. Engine light keeps coming on and off. Ford Pass says " engine control system internal timing components may stuck during engine cold start. " Also power train control module detected an internal engine off timer". Did they ever solve the issue with your truck? or what it was
