Lowrance HDS7 OR HDS7m?

I ordered a Lowrance HDS7m from a fishing place and they told me that I need the 7 not the 7m if I am using it in my truck. Is this correct?

Maybe I'm wrong, but the way I understood it is that the 7 includes the sounder for sonar and the 7m doesn't. So if that's correct you need the 7m unless you want to have sonar in your truck for some reason lol

Either one will function the same, exactly the same, for raptor off roading. Correct?
7m : good for raptor off roading?
Just 7 : will work just like the 7m for raptor off roading? Only it has an additional benefit, is it can be use on your boat. Right?

I just ordered the HDS 7m touch from here Lowrance HDS-7M Gen2 Touch GPS Chartplotter The GPS Store

and it's actually $859 (once you place in your basket) plus a $200 mail in rebate from Lowrance. A buddy is giving me a GO Free wifi adaptor so I'll try and see how well the IPAD app functions as well. I called and asked since I'm new to this and they said this is all we would ever need out of their products for desert use.

HDS-5/7 and HDS-5m/7m
The Sonar Operation section and all other sonar references, only apply to the HDS-5 and HDS-7 sonar/GPS combo units. Sonar references do not apply to the HDS-5m and HDS-7m GPS only units.
