Lowrance Baja 5m update

I'm trying to update the software on an Elite 5m per the instructions on the Lowrance website, but I'm having difficulty unzipping the files on a micro SD card. I've downloaded a couple free decompression programs and tried them, but I can't get the download to uncompress so that the unit will automatically update. Any body got directions for dummies on this? The new Baja chase map requires an update before the map will work.......

Unzip the files on your hard drive then copy them to the chip.

Has to be a 2gb or less chip.

I came across this. Looks like it's to be released Feb 15.
New Off Road Topo for Lowrance to include the Elite.
Scroll down to bottom of list on Right and you will see the one for East and West.

Calling all smart people! This offroad GPS newbie needs advice.

I've had my eyes on the Baja Elite for a year. I can grab one for $450 on sale.

I see that RPG is selling a mount that holds the GPS lower than the Outlaw Raptor mount, but is says it fits the Lowrance HDS-5m Gen2. It seems like all of these Lowrance units come in all kinds of configurations. The HDS-5m Gen2 is listed on their site as being an offroad model, but the details make it look like a marine unit.

Do you have an opinion on the two units? Will the HDS-5m work for offroad use? Do you think the Baja Elite would fit on the RPG bracket?

How do I know which HDS-5m to buy? Or is it just about the mapping options? Do I need the Topo Insight PRO 2013 West?

all of the lowrance units can be used off road, and they can all use the topo maps if the have a drive slot
